Psalm 33 Rahlfs Text

1. <<Ψαλμος του Δαβιδ, οτε μετεβαλε τον τροπον αυτου εμπροσθεν του Αβιμελεχ· ουτος δε απελυσεν αυτον, και απηλθε.>>

Θελω ευλογει τον Κυριον εν παντι καιρω· η αινεσις αυτου θελει εισθαι διαπαντος εν τω στοματι μου.
2. Εις τον Κυριον θελει καυχασθαι η ψυχη μου· οι ταπεινοι θελουσιν ακουσει, και θελουσι χαρη.
3. Μεγαλυνατε τον Κυριον μετ' εμου, και ας υψωσωμεν ομου το ονομα αυτου.
4. Εξεζητησα τον Κυριον, και επηκουσε μου, και εκ παντων των φοβων μου με ηλευθερωσεν.
5. Απεβλεψαν προς αυτον και εφωτισθησαν, και τα προσωπα αυτων δεν κατησχυνθησαν.
6. Ουτος ο πτωχος εκραξε, και ο Κυριος εισηκουσε, και εκ πασων των θλιψεων αυτου εσωσεν αυτον.
7. Αγγελος Κυριου στρατοπεδευει κυκλω των φοβουμενων αυτον και ελευθερονει αυτους.
8. Γευθητε και ιδετε οτι αγαθος ο Κυριος· μακαριος ο ανθρωπος ο ελπιζων επ' αυτον.
9. Φοβηθητε τον Κυριον, οι αγιοι αυτου· διοτι δεν υπαρχει στερησις εις τους φοβουμενους αυτον.
10. Οι πλουσιοι πτωχευουσι και πεινωσιν· αλλ' οι εκζητουντες τον Κυριον δεν στερουνται ουδενος αγαθου.
11. Ελθετε, τεκνα, ακουσατε μου· τον φοβον του Κυριου θελω σας διδαξει.
12. Τις ειναι ο ανθρωπος οστις θελει ζωην, αγαπα ημερας, δια να ιδη καλον;
13. Φυλαττε την γλωσσαν σου απο κακου, και τα χειλη σου απο του να λαλωσι δολον·
14. Εκκλινον απο του κακου και πραττε το αγαθον· ζητει ειρηνην και κυνηγει αυτην.
15. Οι οφθαλμοι του Κυριου ειναι επι τους δικαιους, και τα ωτα αυτου εις την κραυγην αυτων.
16. Το προσωπον του Κυριου ειναι κατα των πραττοντων κακον, δια να αφανιση απο της γης το μνημοσυνον αυτων.
17. Εκραξαν οι δικαιοι, και ο Κυριος εισηκουσε, και εκ πασων των θλιψεων αυτων ελευθερωσεν αυτους.
18. Ο Κυριος ειναι πλησιον των συντετριμμενων την καρδιαν, και σωζει τους ταπεινους το πνευμα.
19. Πολλαι αι θλιψεις του δικαιου, αλλ' εκ πασων τουτων θελει ελευθερωσει αυτον ο Κυριος.
20. Αυτος φυλαττει παντα τα οστα αυτου· ουδεν εκ τουτων θελει συντριφθη.
21. Η κακια θελει θανατωσει τον αμαρτωλον· και οι μισουντες τον δικαιον θελουσιν απολεσθη.
22. Ο Κυριος λυτρονει την ψυχην των δουλων αυτου, και δεν θελουσιν απολεσθη παντες οι ελπιζοντες επ' αυτον.

Psalm 33(34)
1 Pertaining to Dauid. When he bchanged his
        face before Abimelech, and he let him go, and he went away.
2(1) I will bless the Lord at every opportunity;
        continually shall his praise be in my mouth.
3(2) In the Lord my soul shall be commended;
        let the meek hear and be glad.
4(3) O magnify the Lord with me,
        and let us exalt his name together.
5(4) I sought the Lord, and he hearkened to me,
        and from all my sojournings he rescued me.
6(5) Come to him, and be enlightened,
        and your faces shall never be put to shame.
7(6) This poor one cried, and the Lord listened to him,
        and from all his afflictions he saved him.
8(7) An angel of the Lord will encamp around
        those who fear him
        and will rescue them.
9(8) O taste, and see that the Lord is kind;
        happy the man who hopes in him.
10(9) O fear the Lord, you his holy ones,
        because those who fear him have no want.
11(10) The rich became poor and hungry,
        but those who seek the Lord shall not
        suffer decrease in any good thing.

        the fear of the Lord I will teach you.
13(12)What person is he who wants life,
        coveting to see good days?
14(13)Stop your tongue from evil
        and your lips from speaking deceit.
15(14)Turn away from evil, and do good;
        seek peace, and pursue it.
16(15)The Lord’s eyes are on the righteous,
        and his ears are toward their petition.
17(16)But the Lord’s face is against evildoers,
        to destroy the remembrance of them from earth.
18(17)The righteous cried, and the Lord listened to them,
        and from all their afflictions he rescued them.
19(18)The Lord is near to the brokenhearted,
        and the humble in spirit he will save.
20(19)Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
        and from them all he will rescue them.
21(20) The Lord will guard all their bones;
        not one of them will be crushed.
22(21) The sinners’ death is wretched,
        and those who hate the righteous shall go wrong.
23(22)The Lord will redeem his slaves’ souls;
        none of those who hope in him will go wrong.

Psalm 34
A Psalm of David, when he changed his countenance before Abimelech; and he let him go, and he departed.

34:1 I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall be continually in my mouth. 2 My soul shall boast herself in the Lord: let the meek hear, and rejoice. 3 Magnify ye the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.

4 I sought the Lord diligently, and he hearkened to me, and delivered me from all my sojournings. 5 Draw near to him, and be enlightened: and your faces shall not by any means be ashamed. 6 This poor man cried, and the Lord hearkened to him, and delivered him out of all his afflictions. 7 The angel of the Lord will encamp round about them that fear him, and will deliver them. 8 Taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man who hopes in him. 9 Fear the Lord, all ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. 10 The rich have become poor and hungry: but they that seek the Lord diligently shall not want any good thing. Pause.

11 Come, ye children, hear me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord. 12 What man is there that desires life, loving to see good days? 13 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile. 14 Turn away from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

15 The eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer: 16 but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil, to destroy their memorial from the earth. The righteous cried, and the Lord hearkened to them, 17 and delivered them out of all their afflictions. 18 The Lord is near to them that are of a contrite heart; and will save the lowly in spirit. 19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but out of them all Lord will deliver them. 20 He keeps all their bones: not one of them shall be broken. 21 The death of sinners is evil: and they that hate righteousness will go wrong. 22 The Lord will redeem the souls of his servants: and none of those that hope in him shall go wrong.
